New PADI Dive Instructors on Gili Air, Indonesia

Dive resort Oceans 5 likes to congrats the 4 new PADI Dive Instructors at Gili Air, Indonesia. Well done, Tom, Mirjam, Stefan and Sal to become a PADI Instructor, and great job Joseph to become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor.



After 11 days of hard work the IDC candidates achieved their dream. They became all a PADI Dive Instructor at Oceans 5. The Staff of Oceans 5, PADI Course Director Alina, Sander and IDC staff instructor Joeri made the PADI IDC Gili Islands an enjoyable course. Oceans 5 did everything to make this happen, Oceans 5 has a 25 meters training pool, a 70m2 AC-ed classroom, free WIFI, free diving, free lunch, and open water trainings sites just 5 minutes away from the dive shop.

Oceans 5 has different course directors. The IDC candidates will experiences difference views about diving, like the view of a dive shop owner (Sander)or the view of a passionate course director (Alina). This will help the IDC candidates to develop their own teaching style and think about the relationship dive shop owner and instructor.

After the PADI IE there is time for the IDC candidates to get more knowledge. Oceans 5 starts always after the PADI IE a Master Scuba Diver Trainer program. Sander and Alina are capable to teach more than 20 PADI Instructor Specialties to the IDC candidates. Two other course that will be interesting for the IDC candidates are the Reef Check Eco Diver Course and the DDI Instructor Course. Oceans 5 is the only PADI Career Development Center in Indonesia were you can be taught in these courses.

If the IDC candidates want to get some experience by assisting experienced instructors, it is possible at Oceans 5. Oceans 5 has a mix of PADI Master and PADI IDC staff instructors which are teaching the students. They are well trained and living by the PADI standards.

IDC practice days at the Gili Islands

The Gili Islands IDC is over! The next 3 days is it only practice. Today we had theory in the morning and 2 confined sessions in the afternoon. It is still serious but the IDC candidates and PADI course Director Sander Buis are having a lot of fun. The skills of today for the IDC candidates were: * partial mask * regulator recovery * quick reverse * underarm push The candidates passed all the confined session with fantastic scores and they are ready for the PADI Instructor Examination (IE). The candidates didn't practice only 4 confined presentations, till now they have done 7 confined presentations, so they have practice a lot of skills.
